Due to its semi-hard granulated structure, this substrate allows the perfect aeration of the roots, which benefits their development inside the small flowerpots where bonsai are planted. It is a neutral soil and almost sterile, this is why we will have to fertilise it well if we want our bonsai to grow vigorously. Because of the size of the grains this substrate is ideal for small size bonsais.
