A pre-bonsai is a small tree with specific features, that with a little work and some care can become a beautiful bonsai. The pre-bonsais are grown from seedlings to get a good nebari, which is the base of the trunk, fine roots near the trunk, and several design possibilities. This pre-bonsai line will allow you to model and design the bonsai in the style you want or that the tree indicates.
Olea europaea sylvestris bonsai. Wild olive tree or acebuche. It is a typical Mediterranean tree that lives better outdoors.
Evergreen tree of slow but steady growth. Appreciated for its small leaves, in perfect harmony with the size of the bonsai.
Location: In a Mediterranean climate zone, outside, in full sun all year round. Outside its natural climatic zone, it is convenient to protect it from extreme cold and especially from frost (freezing temperatures for more than 24 hours). In spite of this, during the winter it needs a marked decrease in temperatures, between 5 and 7 ºC.
Watering: The olive tree has minimal water needs.
Curiosities: Within the Greco-Roman mythology, the wild olive tree was consecrated to the god Apollo. It was planted in front of the temples and offerings together with ancient weapons hung from its branches. Furthermore, the scepters of kings and the famous mace of Hercules were made of olive wood.
Dimensions in centimeters approx. (width x depth x height): 17 x 17 x 36
Note: The shape and measurements of the pre-bonsais are approximate. The colour and shape of the pot may vary from that of the photo. A pre-bonsai is a living being. The images that appear are non-binding illustrative pictures.
