How to use the Bonsai Self-watering System:

1. Prepare the materials: make sure you have the bonsai, the self-watering wick, a watering can and tongs at hand.

2. Place the wick into the pot and water the bonsai: Wet the wick and insert it with the help of the tweezers through the drainage hole at the base of the pot. The wick will allow water to be absorbed from the water reservoir into the substrate. Water the bonsai to ensure that the substrate is well moistened from the start.

3. Fill the water reservoir: This water will serve as a reserve to maintain the humidity in the pot.

4. Place the pot on the self-watering system: Place the pot making sure that the wick is submerged in the water. This will allow the plant to gradually absorb the water.

5. Watering: During the first few days, you can water the plant from the top to ensure that the substrate is well moistened. The self-watering system will allow you to space watering more flexibly, keeping the plant well hydrated even if you cannot water it frequently. The wick works as a channel that absorbs water from the reservoir and transports it to the substrate, ensuring a constant moisture level for the plant.
