Cotoneaster horizontalis. Bonsai 9 years. Cotoneaster. These are typical Mediterranean trees, they live better outside because they need both the sun and the cold to produce fruit. Small tree with evergreen leaves. Produces white or pink flowers and its small fruits are of red, yellow, orange and black colour.

Fertilising

. Spring to autumn. With Hiryo Gold organo mineral fertiliser or a fast-acting fertiliser such as Nutribonsai. Not during flowering.

Transplanting

Every two years, at the beginning of spring. Afterwards, it is recommended to water with Mistral Bonsai's Vitabonsai invigorator to speed up the tree's recovery.

Substrate

.Terrabonsai. Special soil for bonsai, that will satisfy its needs of water and nutrients, stimulating the development of roots and its vigour in general. Other substrates can also be used, such as a mixture of 60% Kiryuzuna + 40% Akadama, which promotes growth, although it will require more frequent watering.
