Carpinus coreana. Bonsai 20 years. Hornbeam. These are trees that, by nature, must be placed outside, ideal for balconies, gardens and terraces. Deciduous tree up to 30 m tall, with gray bark, that fissurates with age. Ovate leaves, with a toothed margin and a rounded base. Male flowers hang 3-5 cm long, and female flowers group at the end of the twigs. The fruits form hanging clusters.

Every 2-3 years, at the beginning of spring bud break.
Substrate
Akadama 100% or mixed with volcanic clay (30% clay). It is a tree that likes organic matter and a slight acidity of the soil, so it can be mixed with blond peat.
Pruning
Structural pruning can be done in winter, when the tree is leafless and the result is easier to predict.
Pinching
Let the tree take out twigs and grow to form 10 leaves, at which point we cut leaving only the first two.
