Location: The name chaenomeles would come from the Greek "chaïnen", to split, and "mingle", the apple, to designate these shrubs which the fruit was said to open when ripe; which, most often, doesn’t happen in reality. The chaenomeles were the subject of many crosses from the 18th to the beginning of the 20th century, in particular between the Chaenomeles japonica and other Asian species, creating confusion under the common name of "quince of Japan"; But these are always trees characterized by great resistance, fruiting and above all flowering.

Watering: To water thoroughly, only when the surface of the soil is dry, until water abundantly comes out of the drainage holes. Avoid permanent waterlogging of the soil to avoid excess moisture that will rot the roots.

Curiosities: It prefers outdoor areas, in full sun throughout the year, thus we favor an abundant flowering. We recommend to protect your bonsai in winter from the intense cold and from strong frosts.

Dimensions in centimetres approx. (width x depth x height): 36 x 26 x 43
