The so-called indoor trees are mostly trees from tropical origins, that do not support low temperatures. We must place them indoors, always close to a source of natural light.

Characteristics

Evergreen tree or bush. Slow growth. Valued as a bonsai for its trunk and small leaves.


Location

In areas with a Mediterranean climate, it can live outdoors during the summer, and during winter it must be protected from the cold. In colder areas, it should be kept the whole year inside a greenhouse.


Watering

Abundantly during summer and in moderation during winter. Sensitive to puddles.


Fertilization

Spring and autumn.

Re-potting

Every 2 or 3 years in spring.

Substrate

TERRABONSAI from Mistral Bonsai.
After transplanting, water it adding a solution of VITABONSAI from Mistral Bonsai, to accelerate the tree’s recovery.


Pruning and pinching

Pruning

During growth season.

Pinching

When the new bud has 6 or 8 pairs of leaves, cut them leaving only 2 pairs of leaves.

Wiring

During the whole year, it is better to perform it in spring.
