Deciduous shrub. Very appreciated for its fragrant white flowers and their small fruits, of red colour, and edible.
In areas of Mediterranean climate, it can be placed outside, in full sun throughout the year. In colder areas, to be protected from frost.

When new shoot has grown up to 6 leaves, cut down to 2 leaves.
The leaves of all eleagnus show peculiar characteristics: when they bloom, they are tomen-tose, this “hair” vanishes when ripening. The underside of the leaf is silvery, showing brown scales.
