Characteristics

Deciduous tree with fragrant yellow bell-shaped flowers.


Location

In areas of Mediterranean climate, to be placed outside, in full sun throughout the year, shade during summer heat. In colder areas, to be protected from frost.


Watering

Abundantly in summer, and moderate in winter. Be careful with watering during flowering since water should not touch the flowers.


Fertilization

Spring and fall; not needed when there are flowers.

Re-potting

Every 2 or 3 years, in early spring.

Substrate

100% Akadama, or mixed with a 20% of volcanic gravel. It is recommendable to use basic substrate.


Pruning and pinching

Pruning

After flowering.

Pinching

When new shoot has grown up to 6 to 8 leaves, cut down to 2 pairs of leaves.
No defoliation.

Wiring

Spring.


Curiosities

There are other known varieties, including Minigold, which is more compact, and Tetragold, whose flowers appear sooner. Suitable for any style.
